Everything You Need to Know for a Smooth Start

The Arrival Process

  • Arrive a little early so your child can settle, greet friends and educators, and begin the day calmly.
  • Sign your child in using the quick electronic system with your mobile number and PIN.
  • Help your child place their lunchbox and belongings in the correct spots to support their independence.
  • Share any important updates with educators to ensure your child’s routine and needs are fully supported.
  • Use a positive, consistent goodbye to help your child feel safe, confident, and ready for their day.

What to Bring

Lunchbox

Clothing

  • 2–3 sets of spare clothes (more if toilet training).
  • A sun-safe wide-brim hat.
  • Sturdy sunglasses (optional but encouraged).
  • Shoes (thongs are discouraged for safety; bare feet are encouraged).

Food and Drink (Lunchbox Centre)

  • A water bottle (bubblers and cups are available if forgotten).
  • A non-insulated lunchbox with:
    • Morning tea: fruit, cheese, or yoghurt.
    • Lunch: sandwiches, leftovers, or similar.
    • Afternoon tea: a healthy snack your child enjoys.
  • One small sweet treat (e.g., a muffin or 2 biscuits).
  • Please avoid: chocolate, lollies, chips, roll-ups, cordial, poppers, flavoured milk, soft drinks, or nuts (including Nutella and peanut butter).

Other Essentials

  • Bottles and formula (if required).
  • A fitted cot sheet and light top sheet or small blanket in a small bag or pillowcase.

Important Reminder:

  • Label all items with your child’s name to avoid mix-ups.
  • If you’re unsure about what to bring, feel free to ask for assistance.

Saying Goodbye

  • Once your child is settled, give them a hug, smile, and let them know you’ll be back later.
  • Avoid lingering, as this can make the transition harder for your child.
  • Trust that our educators will provide comfort and support to help your child settle in.
  • If you’d like, you’re welcome to call us during the day to check on your child’s well-being.

  • Arrive at the centre at your designated pick-up time.
  • Sign your child out using the electronic system at the front desk.
  • Chat with your child’s educators to hear about their day, including activities, meals, and rest times.
  • Collect your child’s belongings and ensure nothing is left behind.
