At Scallywags, we recognise that commencing at a new child care centre can at times be a challenging experience for both children and their families. To make this transition process as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, we offer our families the opportunity to Stay and Play for Free.
Prior to commencing enrolment, families and children are able to visit the centre with their child as often as they like and stay for as long as they like. The visits are an opportunity for families to meet the educators who will be caring for their child and ask questions regarding the specifics of their child’s future education/care, routines and play experiences.
Staying on the premises, families can leave their child with educators for short periods of time whilst they complete any enrolment documentation, relax with a coffee or speak with other educators or the Centre Director.
Supported by the knowledge that their family is close by, the children begin the process of building trusting relationships as they meet educators/peers and participate in the program. These connections can assist children in feeling secure during their first days at our centre.
